Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

Howdy, all.  The poll for my last post’s giveaway is up and running on the left sidebar.  It closes on Thursday at 10pm CST, so don’t forget to vote for your favorite.  Sweetie Darling will get a new name out of this, so please encourage others to vote as well.  I was rather surprised with the final choices.  I realized someone might cry trickeration if I did the decision-making, so I allowed Puppy do do the honors.  I doubt anyone would was blown away by the nod he gave Sunshine, right?  But, he willingly picked a suggestion made by his competition for my hand in Burgh!  It shows just how fair and balanced this was, right?  Thank you everyone for all of the submissions.  It really made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

The choices:

Windsor  - suggested by Burgh Baby

Winston - suggested by Marmite & Tea

Hamish - suggested by A Brit Different

Knute - suggested by Sunshine (and I was waiting for Rockne to go with it!)

Angus - suggested by Crunchie Mummy

Bairn - suggested by Mumof4

Okay.  That’s out of the way.  How’s everybody doing?  I’m aces, thanks for asking.  (First person to correctly guess that movie reference gets $10 at Starbucks - see what I mean about surprise giveaways?!) Oh, and I’m in Houston this week hanging out with my parents.  Puppy is doing his little “let’s build a top secret something or other class” with a group of fellow rocket scientists and will be in the 120 degree heat of Tucson.  HAHA.  It sucks to be you, love.

With that in mind, he who will be renamed Angus/Winston/Windsor/Hamish/Bairn/Knute and I decided single parenting was for the birds and headed home to my parents and their pool.  He has barely left the water since we arrived.  In fact, he proceeded to walk in the front door, greet my parents, and ask to swim.  I’d barely gotten his suit on when he grabbed onto a float and dove in barely hanging on for life.  My father, who was “in charge” took so much sweet time recovering a sputtering kiddo, that I jumped in with my clothes on to retrieve him.  Good times.  Good times.

I have only been here one day, so nothing over-the-top has, as yet, occurred.  The kiddo peed on my mom’s new carpet, but that’s about it.  If there is a repeat performance of my last visit to Houston?  I’m going to be downing many margies over the course of the week, in addition to gouging out my eyes with corn skewers, and begging one of the military wives to procure some agent orange for me.  I am scheduled, at some point, to have another bloggy meet up with Sugar & Spice so stay tuned.

I hope this visit does not provide three separate posts and all the drama the last one did.  Please God no.
